The ABCs of the First Date

Are You Ready?

Are you ready for your first shot at the girl of your dreams? If you have already taken a shower, put on cologne, made sure you used your Philips Norelco 7310XL for that really clean shave, wore your best shirt, and even went out of your way to order her a bouquet of flowers, then yes you are all set. Then again, it's not just your physical appearance that can give a girl a good impression about you, it's the whole date itself! Thus, it means that every little detail must be well thought of and planned if you want to get a second date with her.

The Dinner

It's not just about looking good when you arrive to pick her up, it's also about making sure everything goes pretty well throughout the night. Needless to say, dinner must be well planned.

It's highly encouraged for you to do a little research about your companion to make sure you bring her to the right restaurant. When you get to the restaurant, ordering the right food also matters. As a rule of thumb, these aren't the ideal stuff to order on a first date:

Crustaceans

Though crab, lobster, prawns, and other crustaceans are very yummy to eat, they're not the ideal "first date food". The romantic environment will without a doubt fly out the window as soon as you both rip apart the shells to eat if you order these.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Forget about that romantic scene between Lady and Tramp, things might get messy if you order spaghetti and meatballs. It's a date, not a children's party so avoid the spaghetti and meatballs.

Huge Hamburgers

Nothing is romantic about chomping on burgers that are bigger than one's mouth. Moreover, hamburgers are too ordinary, they're "staple food" for some Americans so having that for dinner surely won't leave a very good impression on her.

When You're Clueless, Ask

Most men walk into a restaurant with their date without any clue what to order even if they've spent a ton of time doing a little research about the girl. Most of the time, it's better to just ask her what she wants to eat. That way, you're sure that she'll enjoy her meal.

First Date = Looks + Dinner + Fun

An impressive first date requires the right mix of looks, dinner, and fun. Meaning, it's not enough that you do a lot of research through electric razor reviews in order to get the best razor that can give you a clean shave, you dress appropriately, and you take her to a good place with good food. A first date is also about having fun. Obviously, if she didn't have fun with you, you can't expect a second date with her.
